Sierra

a film by

Estonia | 16' | 01/2022 | animation

A father and his son are losing the folkrace. In order to win, the boy turns himself into a car tire. Loosely inspired by the director's childhood, Sierra pulls us into the surreal car racing world.

“Sierra is funny, surreal, and yet, at its core, it’s about love, about our need for intimacy, compassion, and, primarily, connection.”

Press Quotes

“there’s a particular sense of duality that captures the charms of ‘Sierra’ and the film embraces its own ambivalence in a way that is rarely seen on screen.
Review: Sierra – Racing with Love – Savina Petkova

“His latest film, Sierra, is a beauty. It’s got a striking, colourful, and rough design style mixed with a heavy dose of deadpan humor and absurd scenes. What makes Sierra somewhat unique (in an Estonian context) is that it’s got a heart.
The Animation Pimp Presents – Chris Robinson
