In our society, where self-fulfillment has become an obligation, identical twin sisters are on a retreat. Encouraged by their spiritual coach, Vera and Josefien are searching for their own selves. When Vera finds out that she wants to free herself from her sister, their relationship and identity as twins are put to the test.

Malu Janssen

Biography

Raised in Eindhoven, Malu (1989) studied Theater and Film Studies before enrolling at the Netherlands Film Academy, were she graduates with her short film EIGEN /OUR OWN. During her years at film school she experimented with genre and different visual styles. Among the short films she directed are February Hymn and Krabbendans. She directed music videos for the Amsterdam-based band Jungle By Night (“Attila” and “Kingfisher”) and interned with Dutch director Ben Sombogaart as director’s assistant. Malu aspires to make films that require a certain effort of their audience and that not only play on the emotions, but also on the mind.
