As the sun rises above a forgotten pyramid, Mahmoud saddles his horse Asefa besides a desert race track. This is how they prepare for their daily training. Friday, all eyes will be on them. Mahmoud senses the fear inside him. Will he be able to win the race one more time?

Grégoire Verbeke

Biography

Grégoire Verbeke (°1987) is a Belgian filmmaker and photographer. Being on the move and replacing himself in different environments are essential to his practice. His work is the outcome of his encounters with these new and ever evolving realities. Grégoire tries to work within the current moment and embraces the unexpected.

He worked as a 1st AD on The Land of the Enlightened by Pieter-Jan De Pue in Afghanistan. His first short film, Bjeshkë (mountain), was screened at the Sheffield Doc Fest 2018 and Palm Springs Shortfest 2019. I Feel Your Eyes is his second short documentary.
