Director Martin de Vries is a Dutch editor, program maker, producer and media entrepreneur. He studied product design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. From 1985 he was Van Kooten & De Bie’s regular editor. From 1998 to 2014 he edited various documentaries with documentary maker Hans Keller, as well as editing and designing over 700 episodes of the VPRO series Dode Dichters Almanak (Dead Poets Almanac). In 2006 he launched NostalgieNet, a digital tv channel aimed at the over 50’s, producing and directing many of its shows. With film journalist and director Cees van Ede, Martin de Vries has made film programs about and film portraits of actors and directors including Pierre Bokma, Jeroen Krabbé and Kitty Courbois. Until 2007 he was owner of the Online Media post-production company in Hilversum. His production company RealEyes Media has produced documentaries like Rob Touber: Televisie Tot De Dood Erop Volgt (Rob Touber: Television To The Death). Camino, A Feature-Length Selfie is his debut as a film director.
